Conduit Locate On Slab On Grade
- Farmington, New Mexico

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of New Mexico assisted in a project at the APS plant in Farmington, NM. The customer needed to install equipment inside of a building, but needed to locate any dangers in the concrete prior to saw cutting. The technician on site was able to scan the area and map all the dangers on the surface of the slab and provide precise depths to the dangers. This information allowed for the saw cutters to avoid these dangers so the project could continue without delay.

Many facilities are beginning to require GPRS of Albuquerque to scan their concrete prior to saw cutting because it ensures that no active utilities will be severed shutting down the facility. Conduit scanning is an excellent service because it can tell how much cover is on top of the utilities. Rebar scanning is another great service because the technology Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of ABQ uses doesn’t emit any radiation and only needs access to one side of the slab.
